Greetings, ARLIS/NA colleagues --
The Visual Resources Association seeks an Affiliate Representative to ARLIS/NA who will facilitate steady communication and help seek collaborative opportunities between our two organizations.
We are soliciting applications from active members active of both organizations. This is a two-year position appointed by the VRA Executive Board, with the possibility of renewal upon request. The ARLIS/NA Affiliate Representative may seek partial reimbursement of up to $50 per fiscal year toward subsidizing the cost of ARLIS/NA membership. Partial reimbursement applies to an individual’s next renewal of ARLIS/NA membership (i.e., if appointed before renewing for the 2015 ARLIS/NA membership year, the Affiliate Representative would be entitled to partial reimbursement of the 2015 ARLIS/NA membership dues). The minimum requirements are:
1) active membership in both VRA and ARLIS/NA, and
2) the ability to attend the annual conferences of both organizations
(or designate other VRA members to represent VRA at the ARLIS/NA
conference).
An annual report to the VRA Executive Board is required. Please see the attached document for the complete charge, along with a description of characteristic duties and responsibilities.
This is a great way to serve the interests of both organizations while taking on a leadership role within VRA. Please reply to this e-mail by December 5 if you are interested in this position.
In your reply, please include the number of years that you have belonged to VRA and ARLIS/NA respectively, and a short summary of your involvement with both organizations. Long-term membership in both organizations is not the main criterion for this role; if you are an emerging professional who is engaged with both VRA and ARLIS/NA we welcome your interest in this appointment.
