In the more or less recent past our art history faculty have used Marilyn Stokstad’s 2008 or 2011 editions of the general
Art History, but surveys are not always used. I should say we do not have a degree program in art history.

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Gombrich
I'm asking this question for a friend. Is anyone out there using Gombrich as a survey text? What are the most commonly used textbooks now? Although I do collection development, we don't buy textbooks for the library, so I'm a little out
of touch with what the faculty are using. Is Janson still the most commonly used textbook in the US?
