Karen, In the more or less recent past our art history faculty have used Marilyn Stokstad’s 2008 or 2011 editions of the general Art History, but surveys are not always used. I should say we do not have a degree program in art history. Is anyone out there using Gombrich as a survey text? What are the most commonly used textbooks now? Although I do collection development, we don't buy textbooks for the library, so I'm a little out of touch with what the faculty are using. Is Janson still the most commonly used textbook in the US? You can reply directly to me and I'll summarize to the list if others are interested. thanks, Karen Bouchard -- Karen A.
