Call for Emerging Technology Forum Presenters

The Conference Program Committee and the Professional Development Committee invite proposals for the Emerging Technology Forum, a practical, interactive session exploring new technologies.

 

The Emerging Technology Forum will showcase ways in which information professionals are using new, free, and/or open-source technologies to make their jobs more efficient, their teaching and outreach efforts more effective, and their collections more accessible. The Forum will be held concurrently with the Poster Session, Exhibits and Silent Auction in a new event we are calling POSTER 2.0.

 

Requirements for Participation:
Presenters are required to prepare a hands-on component to demonstrate tableside at a technology station for the duration of the 1-hour session, prepare and give a brief, five-minute presentation to a larger group during the 1-hour session, and provide handouts about the technology.


Presenters are asked to provide their own hardware (laptops/tablets, etc.) for their demonstration station. Wi-Fi will be provided.  Demonstrations of free or open-source technologies are preferred.
