After a call to the group earlier this summer, I am pleased to announce that Cheryl Costello and I have handed over leadership of the Photo SIG to the very capable hands of Heather Hayashi ([log in to unmask]). Heather will preside over the group's meeting in Texas -- we hope to see you all there! A bit about Heather: Heather Hayashi received her B.S. in Design from UC Davis with emphasis on Interior Architecture and Visual Communication, and for some years worked in Fashion and Marketing in New York City before realizing her true passion resided in Information Science and Academia. She is just one semester away from completing an MSLS from Clarion University, and two semesters away from completing an MA in Studio Art with emphasis on Painting & Photography from New York University. Presently, Heather works for the University of California, San Diego Library at the Biomedical Library building overseeing the undergraduate student staff as a public services lead. She enjoys working as a liaison in outreach and has served on the UC San Diego’s Environmental Sustainability Group and 2013-2014 ClimateQUAL Implementation team. It is her goal to one day become an academic library subject specialist in the Arts. Heather loves promoting libraries, sharing interests, and connecting with others regarding initiatives she cares about via social media.
