Hi Alison,

Here is an interesting 1990 exhibition catalogue that nicely introduces the subject and issues around artists' books (though it may be difficult to locate):

Ehrenberg, Felipe et al.  Learn to Read Art : Artists' Books. Hamilton, Ont.: Art Gallery of Hamilton, 1990. ISBN 0919153208

There is a more detailed bibliographic description of it here: http://e-artexte.ca/4812/

I hope this is of some help, and good luck with your event!

Best,

John Latour

Collective wisdom,
Might anyone be able to recommend a book that is in someway connected to the topic of artists books, books as objects, history of the book etc. that is quite readable (and not too long) and lends itself to discussion?  I am attempting to connect an Art Book Club discussion to an upcoming exhibition of a book artist.  It can be any kind of writing, fiction, short stories, essays, non-fiction...

Thank you for any recommendations or insight!!
