Dear colleagues, 

On Saturday, May 3rd, the 2014 winners of the ARLIS/NA Research Awards were announced during the Convocation ceremony at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. These awards recognize and reward the contributions that ARLIS/NA members make to the field of art information research. Every year, they are made possible by the continuing support and generosity of their sponsors, Worldwide Books and the H. W. Wilson Foundation.

WORLDWIDE BOOKS AWARD FOR PUBLICATIONS
The Worldwide Books Award for Publications and the Worldwide Books Award for Electronic Resources recognize outstanding publications in print and online by individual ARLIS/NA members in the fields of librarianship or visual resources curatorship, and the arts.

• This year's winner is MARYLY SNOW, the editor of the beautiful and comprehensive book California Society of Printmakers: One Hundred Years, 1913-2013, published in San Francisco by the California Society of Printmakers in 2013. 
• An honorable mention was awarded to HEATHER SLANIA for her article “Online Art Ephemera: Web Archiving at the National Museum of Women in the Arts," published in the Spring 2013 issue of Art Documentation.
  

A separate award for an electronic resources publication was not awarded this year. 

H. W. WILSON FOUNDATION RESEARCH AWARDS
While the Worldwide Books Awards reward completed, published projects, the H. W. Wilson Foundation Research Award provides financial support for members’ proposed, future research projects in the fields of librarianship, visual resources curatorship, and the arts. This year, there are two winners of the award:

• BRONWYN L. DORHOFER will receive $1,500 towards the travel expenses for her research for her project to create an authoritative website on the American photographer Nancy Ford Cones(1869-1962), entitled “A Twilight Mood: The Pictorialist Photography of Nancy Ford Cones (1899-1932).”
• JAYE FISHEL will also receive $1,500 towards travel expenses for her research project to create an online catalogue raisonne for the Nexus Press, a publisher of artists' books and editions from 1989-2003 in Atlanta, GA.
