Dear colleagues,

The next biannual artlibraries.net and the Future of Art Bibliography conference (6th artlibraries.net general meeting) will take place in Copenhagen on 9-11 October, 2014, at the Danmarks Kunstbibliotek (Danish National Art Library).

After the US launch of the new WorldCat-based 'Art Discovery Group Catalogue' (http://artlibraries.worldcat.org/) at the ARLIS/NA conference in May 2014 in Washington, the Copenhagen meeting will be the occasion to present and to discuss this new tool extensively in Europe. The project group will give an update on the state of development, including crucial topics such as specialized bibliographical databases to be included, additional webpages providing information on the project and the participating institutions, and the forthcoming new WorldCat interface. The conference shall also be the occasion to discuss the future administration of the Art Discovery Group Catalogue after the end of the project implementation phase in 2015. We expect OCLC representatives to be present.

On the other hand, the conference will of course serve to discuss and define the conclusions to be drawn for artlibraries.net, the main question being: Shall artlibraries.net survive in the long run or shall the Art Discovery Group Catalogue replace it eventually?

We wish to reserve as much time as possible for open discussion. However, we would like to encourage especially the current or potential participants of artlibraries.net and of the Art Discovery Group Catalogue to make proposals for statements or papers. These could concern not only your institution's expectations and experiences concerning artlibraries.net and Art Discovery Group Catalogue, but also for example new achievements and ideas to be shared with the audience. Your proposals for papers are kindly requested until July 1, 2014. Please send your proposal to any of the artlibraries.net committee members (or to all).

Furthermore, the intention is to provide at least one experienced art historian as a keynote speaker, and our host Patrick Kragelund will present the Danmarks Kunstbibliotek. The detailed program and also registration (without fees) will be available before the IFLA conference in Lyon in August.

Preliminary practical information:
Conference venue: Danmarks Kunstbibliotek, Nyhavn 2, Copenhagen (Danmark) (www.kunstbib.dk<http://www.kunstbib.dk/>)
The conference will begin on 3 pm on Thursday, October 9. After the keynote, the first day will end with a reception in the Kunstbibliotek. On Friday, October 10, the conference will continue until 6 pm. Afterwards, our hosts will offer us the possibility to participate in the "Open doors at museums night" in Copenhagen. On Saturday, October 11, at 10 am, one or two professional visits will be proposed.

With kind regards from the artlibraries.net committee:
