Hi Jessica, We require all students (MFA, Art History, and Art Education) to submit a bound print copy of their thesis or dissertation for the department's small art and visual resources library in addition to a digital copy (PDF) for archiving in the Institutional Repository. Students are responsible for the cost of having their theses and dissertations bound and they use the campus print and copy center. The price varies depending on the type of binding and length. I suggest finding out what other graduate students on campus do and where they go. But the option to pay to have a personal copy of their theses hardbound is still available. We use the same local bindery that we use for our bound periodicals and repaired materials. The price to students for a personal bound volume is roughly $25. You may considered contacting your university's technical services department to see which local bindery they use. Our main library suggested going to Kinkos, but they only do spiral binding, not hardcover. would anyone be able to provide some ideas? Do you know of any places that do this for the library world? I just don't trust a google search and I think it's much better to get a recommendation from a group of experienced librarians.
