The organizing activities of the Wikipedia Art+Feminism Edit-a-Thons culminated in an international campaign with over 30 satellite events from locations including Eyebeam Art+Technology Center, the Brooklyn Museum, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and the London School of Art and Design. The aim of the event was two-fold: to mobilize women to edit Wikipedia and to close the gender gap in articles on art. Siān Evans, Implementation Manager at Artstor, ARLiS Women and Art SIG coordinator and co-organizer of Art+Feminism Wikipedia events, will discuss some organizational aspects of the campaign and its plans for the future. In the process, she will touch on practical concerns around the mobilization efforts and some of the politics of para-academic work. Dorothy Howard, Wikipedian-in-Residence at the Metropolitan New York Library Council since August 2013 will discuss her efforts to involve New York Libraries and Archives in contributing their authority information to Wikipedia and will provide some examples of best practices and strategies for institutional editing.

Only current ARLIS/NA members may attend this event. Registration will close two hours before the start of the webinar. For assistance, please contact [log in to unmask]. Additional information about webinars is available on the
