Dear colleagues,

I'm interested in submitting a proposal to the ACRL 2015 conference (http://s4.goeshow.com/acrl/national/2015/abstract_instruct.cfm).  The topics I've given some thought to are

Creating Effective Research Assignments (panel session)
The goal of this session is to provide a strategy for collaborating with classroom faculty to ensure assignments that cultivate information fluency and a solid research methodology.  Since most college students struggle to develop a problem statement and hypothesis, librarians can share with course instructors their understanding of student information seeking behavior to ensure a well-constructed, detailed assignment that instills information gathering competency.

Integrating User Needs into Facilities Design and Space Planning (panel session)
The objective of this session is to provide a paradigm for planning new facilities—one that is grounded in the needs of users.  Speakers who have led or participated in library design and space planning projects will chronicle strategies for communicating a concrete, clear, and specific set of programmatic requirements to the designers.

If you're interested in being part of the proposal, please forward to me, no later than Friday, April 25, 2014, your name, title, institution, and presentation topic.

Thanks.

Best,
