Hello,

I've just begun working with our MFA & MDes programs on sorting out a preservation and archiving strategy (involving our IR) for graduate student theses.

These documents are currently binders with a typical thesis cover page, and within are high-quality photographs of the student's exhibitions printed on heavy stock paper.

Our Art & Design department would like to start the process of thinking about how to change their process for students so that what is produced is a digital version of what they've got now.

Has anyone else been down this road already with Fine Arts folks? If so, would you be willing to share on this listserv or take a call/email from me on what some of the implementation challenges were for you, and how you overcame them? I certainly appreciate the leads I've been able to unearth from the ARLIS-L archive, but wanted to put the question to you directly now as well.

We are expecting questions of perceived intellectual property risk, so it would be especially great to hear about that aspect.
