Collective wisdom,
I have a member of our education staff looking for a book for our new docent class to read that covers art basics (Things like the elements, principles, basic ways of seeing and some art history). There are a couple of lengthy, expensive textbooks that cover this, but I would love to find something more condensed, readable, and relatively affordable.
Might anyone know if a book like that exists?
