Dear ARLISans, You can traverse Washington, DC like a local using public transit--from Metrorail to Metrobus to the Capital Bikeshare program. A cab is also never far away, and there are plenty of Ubers <https://www.uber.com/>lurking. If you plan to use public transit more than a couple of times, we highly recommend you purchase a SmarTrip card <http://www.wmata.com/fares/smartrip/>, which discounts each metro trip by $1 and makes entering and exiting the stations easier. You can buy one by mail or at the CVS near the hotel.
