Dear ARLIS Colleagues,

ARLIS/NY is delighted to announce our 2014 Celine Palatsky Travel Award winners..... Jina Park and Lindsay King!

The selected winners of the 2014 Celine Palatsky Travel Award will each receive $400 to help defray costs for conference attendance.

Jina Park is currently a Freeland Archive Assistant at the Fairchild Archive & Library at Conde Nast, and the Acquisitions and Technical Services Intern for the Thomas J. Watson Library at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Jina is a new, emerging professional in ARLIS/NA and received her MSLIS with a certificate in Special Collections in 2012 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A recent relocation has brought Jina back to New York, and we are excited to have her as a part of our chapter. Jina will be presenting on "The Politics of Diversity in the Art Library Profession" panel on Sunday, May 4th at 9:15 am, and will also be participating in the Conference Networking Program. This will be Jina's second ARLIS/NA conference, and she is most looking forward to attending the conference so that she will be able to interact with leaders in art librarianship, learn about emerging and exciting issues in the field, and the opportunity to share her own ideas and experiences.

Lindsay King is the Public Services Librarian in the Haas Family Arts Library at Yale University. She has been a member of ARLIS/NA since 2008 and a member of the New York Metropolitan Chapter since 2011. No stranger to ARLIS/NA annual conferences, Lindsay is particularly interested in attending sessions on digital projects and digital humanities. Lindsay is currently involved with a number of computational projects that go beyond digitization, including text-mining the digitized Vogue Archive and a project to enable crowd-sourced transcription of programs from the Yale School of Drama, in order to build a semantic database of Yale theater history.

Congratulations Jina and Lindsay! We look forward to seeing you in Washington, D.C. and to reading about your conference experiences in the summer!

Many thanks to the 2014 Celine Palatsky Travel Award Committee, Meg Donabedian and Adam Hess!

Best regards,
