Dear Arlisians,
The Caroline Backlund Award Committee of the D.C./Md./Va. Chapter of ARLIS/NA is pleased to announce the 2014 winner of the Backlund Professional Development Award, intended to support attendance at the annual ARLIS/NA conference. This year's recipient is Daniel Moore, of Virginia Beach, Va.
Dan will present a poster, “Leveraging the Semantic Web: An Exploration of Linked Data.” Dan writes, "The virtues of Linked Data can open up surprising and rewarding enterprises for art librarians and visual resource curators. My poster is a first step in exploring these new avenues as I seek to contribute new tools to activate scholarly research in the arts and the humanities."
