Hi Anna:

This is a terrific guide and a model of balance between
more-than-we-could-ever-experience-even-if-we-had-another-week-in-DC-with-no
thing-else-to-do and a one-pager, which is never enough. It's always great
to have personal recommendations from the local ARLIS chapter!! Many
thanks!

Joan

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Washington DC Local Guide to the Conference Hotel Area
(Penn Quarter/Chinatown)

Dear ARLISans,

While we know you'll be out and about plenty enjoying the DC spring weather,
conference tours, and fabulous events, we also know you'll be hanging out
around the hotel-a lot. To help you navigate the immediate hotel area we've
created a guide
<http://arlisna2014.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/downtownhotelareaguide.pdf>
that suggests our favorite dining options, coffee shops, drugstores,
clothing stores, bars, and cultural highlights of Penn Quarter and
Chinatown.

Selections from this guide can also be found on Pinterest
<http://www.pinterest.com/ArlisNa2014/> (with great maps); the entire guide
is posted on the "About DC
<http://www.arlisna.org/washingtondc2014/travel.php> " page of the
conference website and on the Local Guides tab
<http://arlisna2014.wordpress.com/local-guides/> of the conference blog.
More guides are coming soon to all of these locations!

Happy conference prepping,

Anna Simon
