On behalf of the Executive Boards of the Art Libraries Society of North America and the Visual Resources Association, we are delighted to announce the selection of Seattle, Washington as the location for the next joint conference of our two organizations in 2016. The beautiful and technology driven city of Seattle was proposed by a coalition of members from the VRA Pacific Rim Chapter and the Northwest Chapter of ARLIS/NA.  Both chapters have proposed a theme of Natural Connections to highlight both the shared values of ARLIS and VRA, as well as the close relationship in the Puget Sound area between its people and nature.

 

 

The Executive Boards of VRA and ARLIS/NA believe that Seattle will be an ideal location for our second truly joint conference and we look forward to the proposals for programs, tours and events that the local chapters will assemble. A Conference Planning Team will be announced in the near future. In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you at our individual annual conferences in Milwaukee and Washington DC.
