Subject: Syracuse University I-School Italy study tour

Interested in seeing Italy from the perspective of an arts librarian? Consider the study tour being offered by Syracuse University.

I am forwarding this on behalf of the Executive Director of Alumni Relations from SU's I-School.

Here's a description with a link to all details at http://ischool.syr.edu/italy

 To summarize:

Explore the Library World of Florence, Italy
May 25 - June 1, 2014
Enjoy a week exploring Italian history, art, and culture through the libraries of Florence - and all the offerings of one of Italy's greatest cities. This is a unique opportunity to explore the library world in one of Europe's richest cultural settings, and to share and enhance your understanding of libraries along with graduate library students who are embarking on their professional careers.
Syracuse University iSchool faculty and staff will lead a group tour, and national library leaders and scholars will give personalized tours and lead discussions about the history of Florence, the Renaissance period as it played out in the city and country, and that era's immense impact on libraries.
The week long travel program includes visits to a range of libraries, potentially including:
* The Uffizi Library and Museum
* The Galileo Museum Library
* The National Library of Florence.
Tour costs include full time iSchool faculty and staff guides, public bus transportation throughout Florence, breakfast every morning, six dinners, hotel accommodations, entrance fees and more! Enjoy built -in time to explore the city on your own, or add optional excursions to fill your day.

Maximum group size is 15 to ensure an optimal learning experience.
