Dear Rebecca and other colleagues,

T&F will almost certainly increase the subscription price.  They have raised our current subscription prices 15-20% on most titles this year in an attempt to force us into a “big deal” package.

When a society contracts with a for-profit publisher one of the reasons is often to make more money to support their other activities (if you’d like to hear my rant about that, let me know).

Be prepared!

Kind regards,

Amy

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Routlege/Taylor and Francis absorbing CAA journals?

Greetings,

Our serials department received a letter from the College Art Association stating Routledge/Taylor & Francis will be taking over the publication of Art Bulletin and Art Journal in 2014.

We had been purchasing a library membership through CAA to receive the print issues of both Art Journal and Art Bulletin.

Collective thoughts about this?  Should we be bracing for a cost increase? Here's a link on the CAA page about it:  http://www.collegeart.org/news/2013/11/05/caa-journals-to-be-published-by-taylor-francis/

Rebecca
