Director, Reference & Research Advisory Services, UC San Diego Library

We are seeking applicants who will bring vision and leadership to the continuing implementation and development of one of the innovative new service programs defined in the UC San Diego Library’s recent organizational restructuring initiative.  Reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Academic Services, the Director, Reference & Research Advisory Services, leads, manages, and strategically plans all programmatic, administrative, and operational activities of the Library’s Reference & Research Advisory Services program.  

The successful applicant will have an MLS or equivalent degree; experience leading reference and research support services; experience managing, coaching and motivating staff engaged in providing those services; a high degree of initiative and ability to effectively implement program strategies and priorities in a diverse and changing environment; and proven experience in identifying information and research needs of faculty, staff, and students and in creating effective services to address them.
