Congratulations to Christina Peter of the Frick Art Reference Library for receiving the 2013 “Pro Cultura Hungarica” award. The award, consisting of a bronze
plaquette and a special certificate, was presented to Christina
by the Hungarian Consulate General in New York on October 21. It is given annually
to people who are engaged in fostering and disseminating Hungarian culture beyond the country’s
borders and in enhancing cultural relations between Hungary and other nations. Christina was particularly recognized for developing collections of Hungarian library material in the U.S., and for contributions to cooperation between Hungarian and North American
libraries, a role which she says has been fostered by her participation in ARLIS/NA and membership in the International Relations Committee. Christina is currently planning the 2014 ARLIS/NA Study Tour that will offer visits to art libraries in Hungary and
Austria.
