Forwarded to ARLIS-L on behalf of Abigail Booth Gerdts:

EXTRAORDINARY OFFER (GRATIS); /Record of Works by Winslow Homer/
authors: Lloyd Goodrich / edited and expanded by Abigail Booth Gerdts
title: /Record of Works by Winslow Homer/ [in five volumes]
publisher, volumes I, II and III: Spanierman Gallery LLC, New York,
2005 and 2008
publisher, volumes IV and V: The Goodrich-Homer Art Education Project,
New York [a 501(c)(3) corporation], 2012 and 2013
The /Record/ is comprised of highly detailed entries on approximately
2,000 watercolor and oil paintings, drawings, and etchings; each entry
is accompanied by a black and white illustration of the subject work.
Each volume has a section of color illustrations, repeating
selected subjects, and each leads off with an extensive biography of
the artist appropriate to the date-span of the volume. This biography
is based on primary research and thus both corrects and expands on the
common perception of Homer's life.
As publisher of /Homer IV/ and /V/, I will have a limited number of
complete sets of the Homer catalogue raisonne /Record of Works by
Winslow Homer/ (Volumes 1-5) to offer to those public, academic and art
museum libraries with an interest in American art. Although the books
themselves will be presented free of charge, the foundation grant which
has underwritten production of the latest volumes does not extend to the
substantial cost of packing and shipping these books, I must ask the
recipients to take responsibility for that expense. The five-volume set
will weigh about fifty pounds,.
The fifth volume of the /Record of /will be ready for distribution early
in 2014. It covers the two decades 1890 through 1910, and brings the
Homer catalogue raisonne to its conclusion. Although the complete
Winslow Homer catalogue thus will not be available for several
months, "applications" for the set are welcome now, as essentially,
distribution will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
To reserve a set, the following information may be sent to me at:

not make further contact; they may be assured of receiving the fifth
volume when it becomes available.)
