I would imagine the number of books is misleading. WorldCat has many duplicates (a difference among bib records as small as a space or a comma can create another record for the same book) and many have different editions.  Ellen Chapman

Searching EBSCOhost with Picasso in the subject retrieves 10,598 articles. (Today, anyway.)

A search of WorldCat finds 20,887 books with Picasso as a named person in the subject.

Any other ideas? She just wants to toss off a number to make an impression but would like some research behind it. :-)
