Attending ALA Annual? 

Building your professional toolkit is the theme of this year’s ALA New Member Roundtable’s President’s Program at ALA Annual 2013. Whether you’re an aspiring, new, or established professional, this program has content for you! Nine speakers will present on skills and professional development topics. Each speaker will speak on a “tool” to add to your proverbial toolkit. 


Speakers represent different types of information professionals - encompassing public, academic, vendor, and non-traditional. Topics include: personal branding, the job search, community engagement and networking, interviewing (from the perspective of the search committee), leadership and customer service, emotional intelligence, management for new librarians, project management, and negotiating for your library. 

Join us for coffee and tea to start your conference day off right on Sunday, June 30, 2013 – 8:30am-10 am CDT in the McCormick Place Convention Center!
