Janis,
For a start searches for terms in the singular or plural notebook(s), sketchbook(s), journal(s), diaries or diary may be useful in big databases like WorldCat.
Drawing and rendering are a bit wide but could be useful used with more specific keywords as in architectural rendering or sculpture and drawing.
Also, The Sketchbook Project may interest you.

Subject: [ARLIS-L] sources for artists' sketchbooks titles
Hello list,
does anyone have a good vendor or online catalog or anything else (including good searches that produce results in things like amazon and abebooks) that I can suggest
to a faculty member who is interested in searching/browsing for facsimiles of artists' sketchbooks. She has been asked to provide recommendations to the acquisitions staff.
Thanks,
Janis
