Dear Colleagues,

The spring meeting for the ARLIS/ NA New England Chapter will be held in Portland, ME on Friday, June 7th.  Our day will be based in downtown Portland, starting with a business meeting at the Portland Museum of Art. There will also be an afternoon guided tour of the Wadsworth - Longfellow House, as well as an opportunity to visit the Joanne Waxman Library at the Maine College of Art (MECA).  All three sites are located within easy walking distance of each other.

Thanks to our colleague Moira Steven at MECA and the generosity of the Portland Museum of Art, all members attending our meeting will also be offered free admission to the Museum and to the current exhibit “The William S. Paley Collection: A Taste for Modernism” on the day of the meeting.  Since I will need to create a list of those attending to give to the Museum and to the Wadsworth-Longfellow House , if you have not already done so, please RSVP to me by Thursday, May 23^rd  to let me know if you plan to attend the meeting and if you will join us for the Wadsworth-Longfellow House tour.

The schedule for the day is below:

10:00  - 10:30 : Coffee/Greetings at Aurora Café at Portland Museum of Art
10:30 - 12:00 :  ARLIS/NE Business Meeting / Discussion at Portland Museum of Art
12:15 - 1:00 : Tour of the Joanne Waxman Library at the Maine College of Art
1:00 - 2:30  : Lunch on your own
2:30 - 3:30 : Guided tour of the Wadsworth-Longfellow House

There is also much to do and see in in Portland on the evening of June 7th. The Portland First Friday Art Walk (http://www.portlandmuseum.org/) will be occurring from 5PM -8PM and the Portland Museum of Art will be open until 9PM. If you have time, you may want to take advantage of these and other events after our scheduled day.
