Dear colleagues,

The Image Collections and Fieldwork Archives (ICFA) at Dumbarton Oaks is proud to announce the online publication of its 16mm film collection. The thirteen (13) films are now available through Vimeo and are embedded on ICFA's Moving Image collection webpage: http://www.doaks.org/library-archives/icfa/special-projects/films-and-videos

The collection consists of films documenting the Byzantine Institute’s restoration work at the Red Sea Monastery of St. Anthony (http://www.doaks.org/library-archives/icfa/special-projects/films-and-videos/red-sea-monastery-of-st-anthony), Hagia Sophia (http://www.doaks.org/library-archives/icfa/special-projects/films-and-videos/hagia-sophia), and Kariye Camii (http://www.doaks.org/library-archives/icfa/special-projects/films-and-videos/kariye-camii). They were filmed between 1930 and 1950 and document the fieldwork projects, as well as the conservation and restoration techniques employed by the Byzantine Institute fieldworkers.

Additionally, ICFA presents the Dumbarton Oaks Gardens film (http://www.doaks.org/library-archives/icfa/special-projects/films-and-videos/dumbarton-oaks-gardens),which includes scenes with Mildred Barnes Bliss and her friends in the Orangery and Robert Woods Bliss strolling in the gardens.
