The original Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, opened its doors to the public in
1876 in Copley Square, housing 5,600 works of art. In 1909 it moved to its
current home on Huntington Avenue and is now one of the most comprehensive
art museums in the world. The Museum's ultimate aim is to encourage inquiry
and to heighten public understanding and appreciation of the visual world.
Scholars Resource offers a wide selection of images from all departments of
the museum: Art of the Ancient World, European Art, Africa and Oceania, and
a rich collection of Asian Art which is among the finest in the western
world.
