[Please excuse cross-posting]

I just wanted to take a moment to invite you all to the session, The Future Is Now: Considering the Impact of RDA Post-Implementation and What's Next , Saturday, April 27th from 10:30am-12:30pm in Conference Center 107.

We have three distinguished speakers on the panel who will address the impact of RDA (Resource Description and Access) on user-groups beyond book catalogers and discuss possibilities for increased access in the changing cataloging environment. Chizu Morihara , Art Librarian, University of California, Santa Barbara, will discuss RDA from the reference librarian's perspective; Marie Chantal L'Ecuyer-Coelho , Cataloguing Librarian for Graphic Materials, Bibliothèque et Archives Nationales du Québec, will speak about the challenges of cataloging original prints and whether FRBR and RDA provide successful solutions to those difficulties; and Philip Schreur , Head of Metadata, Stanford University, will consider RDA within the context of BIBFRAME (the new data model for web-based bibliographic description proposed by the Bibliographic Framework Initiative) and look at the possibilities that Linked Open Data might offer in that environment.

Please join us for what promises to be an exciting discussion!

Best,
Bronwen
