Please join us for an informal discussion of the challenges and benefits of coordinating public programs held in art
museum libraries. Such programs offer added value to the
museum experience by providing unique opportunities for
museum visitors and members of all ages to engage with library services and resources.
We will be joined by Sheila Cork, Librarian at the New Orleans
Museum
of Art, who has organized a popular book club featuring
exhibition-related readings and discussions. Leah High, Public Services
Librarian at the Metropolitan
Museum of Art, co-manages a daily storytime program for a range of young
museum
visitors in the Met’s Nolen Library. Sheila and Leah will facilitate an
interactive conversation in which attendees may learn more about these
specific programs, as well as share their own experiences and questions
about
museum library programming.
