Hello Collective Wisdom,
I have a patron who is asking for information about a painting he has acquired, and information about the painter.
The artist is Pierre Jaques (1913-2000).
On the back is written 'Enchanted Road', Swiss 1913. [1959 Oil on Canvas]
Collection of Professor Dr. Arthur Stoll
ARLESHEIM
New York Graphic Society.
We've worked out that Dr. Arthur Stoll (1887-1971), was a Swiss Biochemist, who lived in Arlesheim, Switzerland 1925-47.
I would appreciate any information anyone might have access to about this artist.
I've gone through The Dictionary of Art, Benezit, World Painting Index, Bryan's Dictionary of Painters and Engravers, and Havlice Index to Artistic Biography.
