The ARLIS/SC Nominating Committee is happy to announce that  Antoinette Avila (UC Irvine) is the candidate for Secretary (2 years). Congratulations Antoinette!

 

The committee is still seeking nominations for the position of Vice-Chair/Chair Elect (1 year as Vice-Chair; 1 year as Chair; 1 year as Immediate Past-Chair). There are many benefits to serving as a chapter officer. Officers gain valuable leadership experience while contributing towards ensuring that the ARLIS/NA Southern California Chapter meets the professional needs of art and architecture librarians and visual resources professionals in our region. Serving on the Executive Board is also a wonderful way to get to know librarians throughout Southern California and beyond. The position of Vice-Chair/Chair Elect is particularly interesting because it allows the incumbent to be involved in event planning in the first year, gain experience in chairing the chapter and interacting with the ARLIS/NA Executive Board in the second year, and being involved with special projects in the third year. For the upcoming year, we already have offers for hosting two of our meetings (in addition to our meeting at the ARLIS/NA conference in Pasadena).
