Greetings ARLISians!! As many ASRLISians may be aware, I have spent the past year consolidating and moving my book enterprises. I am now in a newly refurbished building, in Columbia, PA. Most inventory is now under one roof, which is wonderful! There was recently an article on www.americanaexchange.com which provides background and details on my new building, complete with a few pictures. In conjunction with this great move and consolidation, I am now able to see the full breadth of duplicates I have, and also am able to gather all the out-of-scope or surprisingly common (but none-the-less useful and important) books I have gathered into one room. As a specialist, there is much wisdom in attempting to stock one of everything, even if it is very common and inexpensive. I allows me to provide service at all levels of inquiry. And it is vital to collection development and ready-built, comprehensive libraries for customers who need this. Expensive books repair the roof, and inexpensive books put food on the table. There is also much wisdom in keeping current on bills, and in not becoming a home for unwanted books. So this weekend, on Saturday January 26, 2013, I will be having a one-day SALE in the front area of my first floor. I will have 15-20 rolling carts brimming with non-fiction books being offered for sale on the cheap. $1-$2 for softcovers and $3 for hardcovers, half-price on anyrthing with a pencil price inside it (or less). We're talking 200 -- 250 shelf feet of books! Topics included will be all areas of the fine and decorative arts, biographies, auction catalogues, gallery catalogues, architecture, photography, etc. If this goes well, I may have these sales every month or two. We'll see. During these sales, access to the second floor inventoried stacks will be necessarily limited or non-existent due to staffing limitations. Please be in touch with me if you are within driving distance of the Susquehanna River Valley and want more information. If you are willing to put up a poster in a conspicuous location for your patrons or students, please be in touch and I will quickly send you a pdf of something, with my gratitude. I am located 75 minutes north of Baltimore, 30 minutes south of Harrisburg, PA and 90 minutes west of Philadelphia, and a pleasant 4 hour drive west of Manhattan, in the heart of the Amish Country, nearby to mountains of Whoopie Pies and wet-bottom Shoofly Pies. I am always interested in buying books in all areas I sell in. Which is a lot of areas besides Art. Have truck will travel. I also provide appraisals, collection development services and engaging conversation of all sorts! Tell me how I can be of assistance.
