Hi from Providence,
We are fine here, although I haven't yet heard from all of the staff. Some, I'm sure, are dealing with power outages. As far as I know, the city came through with minimal damage; not so for other parts of the state. RISD is closed today, but I decided to open the library at noon and have staff coming in so we can be open through the evening. We had sandbags on our doors facing the river, but there was no need for that in the end. The hurricane barrier protected downtown from the high tide and storm surge. It's sunny now and nearly 70 degrees out.
