Per the announcement below, the DC/MD/VA chapter will be holding its fall meeting on November 9, 2012 at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington D.C. We have reached capacity for the tour portion of our day, but welcome members to our chapter business meeting and conference planning, beginning around 3:00 pm. Please use the RSVP instructions below if you would like to attend.

November 9, 2012, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm

Our day will include a curator-led tour of the current exhibition Very Like a Whale, and a tour of the library’s national landmark building. We will also spend time with conservators and digital imaging specialists. Our day will conclude with our chapter business meeting and 2014 conference planning.

Join us after our day at Johnny’s Half Shell, near Union Station, for happy hour.

Chapter Business:

Come prepared to volunteer or nominate for the positions of Vice Chair and Secretary/Treasurer.

Transportation:

The Folger Shakespeare Library is centrally located on Capitol Hill, a 3-min. walk from Capitol South (Orange and Blue lines), a 10-minute walk from Union Station (Red line, Amtrak, MARC, and VRE), and accessible by bus (96, 97, Circulator, and the 30’s). Refreshments/Lunch:

The Folger is generously supplying morning refreshments beginning at 9:30, before our day starts at 10:00.

There are many dining options in the neighborhood. The cafeteria at the nearby Library of Congress is an option for lunch where those who are bringing food can join others.
