The research collections circulate to staff and docents, and materials do not leave the building unless special arrangement have been made. Of course material circulates outside the premises via interlibrary loan. The museum’s Teaching Resource Center circulates more widely to the public, especially to the teaching community.

The Seattle Art Museum Libraries have similar policies to the Nelson-Atkins. Materials from the reference libraries circulate to staff and museum volunteers (mainly docents and interns) only. Materials from the teacher resource center circulate to staff, volunteers and educators, including parents.

Greetings,

Spencer Art Reference Library materials can be checked out to museum staff only.  The Educator Resource Center allows checkout of materials to teachers and home-schooling parents.

Hi Linda,

Our print materials can only be checked out by staff, but we do allow members to check out our DVD/Video collection.

Hope this helps!

I am interesting to see if any museum libraries have circulating book collections for members and/or the public.  This would be in addition to research in-library use only collections. THANKS.
