Hello Art and Design Librarians,
I'm working on a paper about contemporary "music multiples"--objects or items that combine recorded music or sound (vinyl, cassette, CD, mp3) with fine and graphic arts in a deliberate way. Here are links to a few examples:

http://willworkforgood.org/archives/911
The album "Endless Bummer" by the band Pink Skull.
1000 LP's each with a unique "bummer" letter pressed on the cover.

Extrapool cassette and folded paper packaging by Sun Foot, a band featuring the visual artist Chris Johanson:

The Sacred Bones record label reissue of the Eraserhead soundtrack in a limited edition package:

10" record and artist booklet by Jim Houser (known as a visual artist):

My question is: are you collecting or occasionally purchasing such music objects? If so, I'd love to email you a few more questions. My fear is that art librarians might think that music librarians are buying, and vice versa. (I've posted this query on the MLA list, too.)

Please reply to me off the list.

Best regards,
Susan
