Hi, I am working in a Visual Resources Library which also houses a small collection of just under 2,000 books. We are looking at a possible donation of books from someone's personal collection. Several of the books he is donating are in very few other libraries according to WorldCat.

I was wanting to try my hand at appraising some of the books, two of them have been signed by the curators of an exhibit and one is a limited edition copy. Do you know where I might begin looking? We do not subscribe in our main library to Bowker's Books in Print. I've heard that ALIBRIS might be a good place to look. I am just trying to give an estimate of how rare these books might be. Can anyone help direct me in the right path?

Thanks,
