Deadline: October 22, 2012
The Visual Resources Association Foundation (VRAF) announces the deadline for its next round of Project Grants. This program provides support for projects in the field of visual resources and image management
that are consonant with the VRA Foundation mission.
Two grants are available in the fall 2012 cycle with up to $1,500 to be awarded per grant. The funds may be used for stand-alone projects, pilots or start-up financing for larger projects, or for a significant
component of a larger project. Collaborative projects and those proposed by groups, whether or not affiliated with an organization or institution, are encouraged. Of particular interest are innovative projects with results that can have broad impact and
be shared with the global community. Categories to be considered for funding would include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
•
Image Cataloging and Metadata
•
Data Standards
•
Digital Archives
•
Digitization Projects of Special and/or Unique Collections (Educational Institutions, Libraries, Museums)
•
Visual Literacy
•
Pedagogy and Technology
•
Intellectual Property Rights
The Foundation reviews and selects projects for funding in the fall. The exact dates are published with each request for proposals. The deadline for the fall 2012 review is October 22, 2012. Awards will be
announced by November 30, 2012.
