The Society of Architectural Historians Receives $10,000 donation from
Two Cat Digital, San Leandro, California

Chicago, IL-September 21, 2012 The Society of Architectural Historians (SAH), the leading international learned society that promotes the study, interpretation, and preservation of the built environment worldwide, has received a gift of $10,000 in digitizing services from
Two Cat Digital<http://www.twocatdigital.com/index.html>, one of the most experienced digital imaging companies in the world. The gift of services, which was used to match a $350,000 National Endowment for the Humanities Division of Preservation and Access grant, will provide high-quality digitized images for the Society's newest online publication, SAH Archipedia<http://sah-archipedia.upress.virginia.edu/>. [http://sah-archipedia.upress.virginia.edu/] Additional support for developing the first phase of this publication was provided by the Graham Foundation, the American Institute of Architects and University of Virginia Press.

The October 2012 launch of SAH Archipedia, along with the partnership with Two Cat Digital, marks a new era in which the Society will provide access to SAH Archipedia, a developing, robust digital encyclopedia of American architecture. Commenting on receipt of the gift, SAH Executive Director Pauline Saliga observed, "The fact that Two Cat Digital is working with the Society to create digital images for this new online resource is very important both for SAH and the general public as a whole. Two Cat Digital has been a great partner in helping us unlock the photographic resources housed in thousands of 35mm slides, black and white prints, and 4 x 5 transparencies that will be digitized for the benefit of architectural history and for all who share an interest in the built environment."

SAH greatly appreciates the generosity of NEH, Two Cat Digital, the Graham Foundation, The American Institute of Architects, and our publishing partner, University of Virginia Press.
