Digital Project and Metadata Librarian

Immediate opening for a full-time one-year Digital Project and Metadata Librarian responsible for the preparation of items
and metadata for offsite digitization, logistical management, preparation of digital image files and associated metadata migration into the Library’s digital content management system, enhancement of existing records, and the creation of authority records
as part of a one-year IMLS project to digitize portions of the Mary Ann Bienecke Collection.
Responsibilities include new and enhanced metadata creation and the application of the RDA, Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules;
cross-walking MARC-to-Qualified Dublin Core dataloads into the Library’s collection management system; creating mapping and oversight of the OAI-PMH harvesting of the collection by OCLC and the Digital Commonwealth of Massachusetts;
preparation of original authority records for contribution to LCNAF, supplying cross-references where required, and performing special research of bibliographic and non-bibliographic sources for citations in OCLC Connexion.
The successful candidate will possess a MLS or equivalent degree and demonstrate knowledge of RDA, AACR2, MARC21, Dublin-Core,
and OAI-PMH and will have worked with OCLC Connexion, Innovative Interfaces Millennium and ContentDM databases.
