Hello! I'm new to the listserv, but not new to ARLIS. I submitted a paper proposal a few weeks ago on the subject of "archiving fandom," such as fanart, fanfiction, fanzines, etc. There are a lot of possible angles when it comes to libraries collecting or archiving fan creations--quality control, copyright, etc., so it made me wonder if there are other librarians who'd be interested in a session focused on this topic or are handling similar materials.

A little about me: My name is Celina Williams, and I'm in the process of completing my MLIS from University of North Texas. I work in Special Collections and Archives at James Branch Cabell Library, where we house a large fanzine collection, including Star Trek fanzines with some rather interesting fanart and fanfiction. Last year, I wrote and co-presented on the zine collection at VCU Libraries' James Branch Cabell Library. I primarily assist an archivist with the comic arts collection and other popular and alternative culture collections.

Please contact me if interested, or alert me if there's a similar session already being proposed. I'd be happy to be involved.

Thank you,
Celina
