Hello collective wisdom!

I am currently an MLS student at Clarion University enrolled in a Bibliography of the Humanities course. One of our assignments for this class is to write an analysis paper on the work of a specific area of humanities reference. I wanted to focus on fine arts/ art history librarianship and I was hoping that y’all might help me by answering some questions I had in regards to the work you do and subsequently permit me to use any feedback you provide to complete this assignment. The questions I have are as follows:

1.)    What is your job description of basic expectations of your role as the fines arts/art history subject specialist?

2.)    What percentage of your work is devoted to reference (both in person and virtual)?

3.)    What are the most challenging aspects of your work?

4.)    What sort of training or experience is necessary (or that you would recommend one pursue) in order to be prepared for a position such as yours?

I really appreciate any and all feedback you can give me!

Thank you,

April Griffith
