The ARLIS/SE Professional Development Travel Award committee is pleased to announce that Margarita Mirabal has been selected as the 2012 award recipient.
Margarita is Digital Archivist at Florida International University in Miami. At the Digital Collections Center there, she is currently involved with the Coral Gables History Project, a collection of archival and museum artifacts - both visual and textual - documenting the city's history, culture, architecture and people. Prior to working at FIU, Margarita interned twice at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, at the Watson Library and at the Image Library. This will be her first time attending ARLIS/NA's annual conference, and she is looking forward to meeting others in her field and deepening her knowledge of digital preservation, digital collection management, and imaging by attending a variety of sessions and workshops.
