I apologize to colleagues if this has already been posted.  VERY important!  Ray Anne Lockard

Could ARLIS/NA EB write a letter jointly with CAA?

In addition to having CAA make a statement as a professional association, does anyone know how to start one of those "email petitions" that get forwarded around the country?  I say let's deluge the current CEO of the library, Anthony Marx, to ask (as Scott McLemee says) "why a collection of three million volumes gathered over more than a century is being treated as a distraction, rather than as the institution's entire claim to cultural significance." His public email address is: [log in to unmask]

I'm thinking of signing the Facebook page about this, although "liking" the page seems counterintuitive since I strongly dislike the  library's plan.

I wonder if there might be a way of raising a call for CAA to make a statement as a professional association against this crazy plan?
