I have recently received final proof of a very scholarly book on the work of Gianlorenzo Bernini at St. Peter’s in Rome. 65,000 words of text, plus 22,000 words of notes and 265 illustrations. It needs a good index that includes not
only names, places, and things, but also ideas, since that is what the book is really about. If you think you might be interested I hope you will tell me what experience you have had indexing in this field, and send me copies of the indexes you have done.
