Please join us for an upcoming Lunchtime Chat!

Evolving and Converging Library Spaces
Friday, February 17, 2012
2PM Eastern – 1PM Central – 12PM Mountain – 11AM Pacific
*Chat URL to be announced the morning of Feb. 17th on ARLIS -L*
Guest facilitators: Marilyn Nasserden, Metadata Coordinator (Formerly: Head, Visual & Performing Arts, to October 2011), University of Calgary; John Wright, Librarian and Director, Arts and Culture, University of Calgary; Karen Buckley, Associate Archivist, Arts and Culture, University of Calgary

Libraries, archives, museums, visual resources, and technology access points are increasingly converging as the concept of ‘library as space’ evolves into the 21st century. Space planning and re-design impacts users’ physical interaction with the library, but also staffing, collection development, outreach, access, and digital discovery. Join us in a group discussion of the challenges and benefits to space renovation and re-design, whether the project is large or small. We will be joined by guest facilitators Marilyn Nasserden, John Wright, and Karen Buckley of the University of Calgary, home of the recently opened Taylor Family Digital Library (http://library.ucalgary.ca/ ).
