Dear Colleagues, Sincere thanks to everyone who responded to my query about new art/architecture libraries built within the last six years, as well as any that are currently being planned - with particular interest in hearing how new technologies/services are being incorporated. As the author is an architect, she might be a good source as well. Here is the 2010 http://www.libraryjournal.com/lj/communityarchitecture/888460-479/the_year_in_architecture_2010.html.csp (all projects competed between July 1, 2009,and June 30, 2010). 2011 should be coming out in December. www.youtube.com/watch?v=am-Azzzh7oA23 Sep 2010 - 33 sec - Uploaded by ProvinceofBC The new library in Surrey, British Columbia will showcase Canadian architect Bing Thom's design UCSD did a major remodel, combing the former Art & Architecture Library, the Music Library, and the Film & Video collection and services at UCSD about 2 years ago. The Arts Library is located within the Geisel Library, which currently includes 4 other libraries. Leslie Abrams just completed an article about the renovation which will be published in the next Art Documentation. The Fleet Library at RISD opened 5 years ago.
