Dear ARLIS members,

Frances Follin and Sue Ward have asked if I would post this, and I do so with pleasure.  I mentioned to Sue that some art librarians may not be aware that The Art Book, which has ceased publication, has an unofficial online successor.   Since there is not currently in place a system for library subscriptions, please contact me so that I may pass on your interest to the editorial team.  Craig Bunch   [log in to unmask]

Cassone: The International Online Magazine of Art and Art Books was launched in May 2011. This is a dynamic project produced by the editorial team behind The Art Book magazine. Designed for online access, Cassone is attractive, easy and pleasurable to read on screen. Now in its fourth month with over 120 articles, book reviews and up-to-the-minute exhibition reviews, Cassone has something to interest every art lover, whether those who flock to art galleries on Saturday afternoons, undergraduates, those taking extramural courses in art history or art appreciation, or members of the many ‘Friends’ organisations of our major museums. All content is permanently available to subscribers via the online archive.
You can see Cassone now at www.cassone-art.com <http://www.cassone-art.com/>   so please take a look today.

Cassone exists for the huge worldwide audience of art lovers, by presenting a wide range of art and art writing in plain, accessible language. Our international expert contributors will fully explore all aspects of the visual arts for visitors to our beautiful, informative site.

We don’t at the moment have in place a system that would allow libraries to take subscriptions but we are investigating this so do let me know if any librarians show an interest in this
With best wishes

Frances
